Ok, ok, ok. So we’re a day late. But as promised, we have posted the Smallman Records Podcast (See link at end of news blurb), containing the new song, as well as the first single off of Things Couldn’t Be Better, ‘This is Just the Beginning’. Although this new song isn’t available for download yet, it will be available, along with the song ‘All I Ever Wanted’ tomorrow, on Friday, January 19th on the Reason’s MySpace Page. Enjoy.
Also, a bunch of tour dates were posted today for The Reason’s upcoming February tour with The Spill Canvas and Ten Second Epic. Stay tuned for more dates to be added across the board on the open dates, including a few shows in the US with The Spill Canvas.

J. Robbins (Jawbox, Burning Airlines, Channels) and his wife Janet Morgan’s baby boy Cal was born with a serious genetic condition called Spinal Muscular Atrophy. Though there is no cure for this condition, there are lots of treatments that promise to give Cal the best possible quality of life. Unfortunately, many of these, especially the alternative treatments, are not covered by health insurance.
J. and Janet have given so much over the years to the music community we’re all a part of, Kim Coletta and Bill Barbot of DeSoto Records are hoping you can see in your hearts to help them out now.
They have set up a website with more information and a place to make a donation. All of the money will go straight to J. and Janet to help defray their growing medical bills.

So, obviously Choke, Ghosts of Modern Man and The Reason are having too much fun on this tour - or they’ve got too much time. When we got into the office today, we found a number of phone messages from all three bands sounding pissed and distressed. None of them said what was going on, only that they were either “fucking pissed” or that “you should get in touch with us as soon as possible, it’s urgent”.
We were a little freaked out, even more so when we couldn’t get hold of any of any of the bands that morning. When we finally talked to The Reason, they told us that Jeremy and Cam had disappeared that nite after getting into a huge shouting match with members from GOMM and Choke. They couldn’t find either of them, neither GOMM nor Choke were talking to them anymore. We then heard from Liv, the tour manager, who told us the same thing and that Choke had nothing to say to The Reason and didn’t want to deal with them anymore.
We naturally went into panic mode here, thinking that the tour was over and that we were all screwed. An hour later, still no sign of Jeremy and Cam in Calgary, and The Reason was telling us that even if they do show up, they were not sure if they wanted to have those guys in the band anymore. More freaking out on our part.
Finally at noon, Cam phoned us with the simple words of “April Fool’s”. They had all been together the entire time.
Fuckers. They shall suffer.

January sort of snuck up on us as we were getting all the artwork and media and publicity stuff ready for our busy spring. And then, we realised why were all so bogged down in work and throwing spikes at each other’s heads. Let the advertising campaign begin. Pow! Pow! Pow!

1202 Neptuno Projects, along with the National Film Board’s FAP
progam, are working on a documentary about small town Canadian punk
rock scenes. We are currently asking punk rockers from coast to coast
to log on to our website and tell us about their scene. We want to
know as much as possible about these places before we show up and
start filming this spring and summer. So please log on to our website
and fill out the questionnaire; every one who takes the time to help
us out will be automatically entered for a chance to win some skate
swag and a couple of things from Canadian record labels.
