Our Mercury Add Fourth Member

Our Mercury have added a permanent keyboard player to their lineup. Eric Budd, the man responsible for playing the keyboards on their upcoming album ‘From Below’, is now an official member of the band. He will be undergoing the strenuous initiation regime of Our Mercury in the upcoming weeks. This naturally involves some paddling and of course repeating the phrase “Yes sir, may I have some more, sir!”

‘From Below’ is scheduled for an early 2006 release date through Smallman.

Smallman Signs Our Mercury

If you were able to get a copy of our Tour Sampler this spring, you will have noticed that the final track was a song from Edmonton’s Our Mercury. That song, and their energetic live show is what got us interested in them about a year ago. Since then, we’ve been talking back and forth until now, we can actually announce that we will be releasing the next Our Mercury album.

The band is presently in the studio in Edmonton finishing it off, and it should be done before the end of May. We’re hoping for a mid to late August release of this album, their first full length.

If you haven’t already seen the band, they will be playing with Choke and Ghosts of Modern Man in Edmonton on May 27, and then will be heading out across western Canada in July with Ghosts of Modern Man. As well, we’ve now put the Smallman Spring Sampler on the radio option on this site, and track 11 is the demo version of Basement’s Calling.
