Exclaim Magazine was at Sylvie’s appearance at Halifax POP and listed them as one of the hilites of the festival. Their exact words:
Initially evident, besides the long, adrenalised songs, was an unearthly communion between bassist Riva Farrell Racette and drummer Jeff Romanyk. Racette can really sing also and played her instrument like Geddy Lee on speed. This is a Regina - based - precision - tooled progressive rock band with a dash of Manic Street Preachers and Synchronicity-era Police. Frankly, no one in Canadian music these days makes a sound like this. Sylvie did, whith synthesised keyboard loops and teasing washes of guitar squall over the driving beats from that amazing rhythm section. Arenas, cold and silent as tombs, await their crazed sound.

The Reason are proud to bring you the first installment of their series of VIDEO BLOGS for you to watch and enjoy. This first video was filmed late last Friday night on the drive from Belleville to Oshawa. Apparently that year off of touring got the best of the band. They forgot to fill up and ran out of gas on highway 401, and….well, to find out what happened you’ll just have to watch it! CLICK BELOW to check it out on YouTube.

To start with, the new album from The Reason, entitled Things Couldn’t Be Better, is now officially set for release on March 6, 2007. That said, we’ve got a song from the album available for download starting today. All I Ever Wanted is the first song that we’re releasing from this album, and we think it’s a gem.
To coincide with this, we’ve also teamed up with West 49 and CIRCA Shoes for two prize packs consisting of gift certificates and shoes. Click HERE and sign up for the contest and get the song.
Additionally, The Reason have a new website and revamped myspace page, offering up desktops and buddy icons featuring artwork from the new release. So make sure that you go to both of those sites and grab what you can.
Spread the word. We love this album, and hopefully you do too.
