For those of you who missed it, The Reason were featured on MuchMusic’s GOING COASTAL in January of ‘06, a month before they went into the studio to begin recording. J. Robbins (Jawbox, Burning Airlines, Channels) and his wife Janet Morgan’s baby boy Cal was born with a serious genetic condition called Spinal Muscular Atrophy. Though there is no cure for this condition, there are lots of treatments that promise to give Cal the best possible quality of life. Unfortunately, many of these, especially the alternative treatments, are not covered by health insurance.
J. and Janet have given so much over the years to the music community we’re all a part of, Kim Coletta and Bill Barbot of DeSoto Records are hoping you can see in your hearts to help them out now.
They have set up a website with more information and a place to make a donation. All of the money will go straight to J. and Janet to help defray their growing medical bills.

The Reason are proud to announce what will probably be their last 2 shows of the year. DECEMBER 30 at the Underground in Hamilton, is not only the day before New Year’s Eve, but its also a headlining show for them and the last time they will play locally until the record is released. They’ll be playing a wide spectrum of songs new and old, and will be joined by friends in Saint Alvia Cartel, Attack in Black & more. You do not want to miss this party!
Also, on December 21 The Reason will be playing MOBILE JAM FEST at the Phoenix in Toronto with none other than LUPE FIASCO!! Lupe + The Reason = good times. There are many other artists to be announced for this thing as well. Craziness.
Last but not least they will be filming the video over this coming weekend for the song “This is Just the Beginning” with award-winning director SEAN MICHAEL TURRELL. Check his resume. This guy is the shit. The Reason isn’t revealing the video concept just yet but they will have a video blog done about the whole experience in a week or two. Keep posted.
