‘Supporting Caste’ is the fifth release from Winnipeg, MB’s legendary Propagandhi.
PROPAGANDHI – SUPPORTING CASTE
RELEASE DATE: MARCH 10TH 2009
Propagandhi are proud pleased delighted required to announce the release of their new album, Supporting Caste.
Recorded at the band’s own Illegal Combatant Studios and the world-renowned Blasting Room in Ft. Collins Colorado, Supporting Caste is the fifth full length release from Winnipeg’s Propagandhi.
Crafted in collaboration with Bill Stevenson (Black Flag, Descendents, Zeke, 7 Seconds), this 12 song collection of boundless power and depth is a 50 000 watt forward-thinking tip-of-the-hat to the giants—Voivod, Rush, SNFU, Sacrifice, Razor, Guilt Parade – that have gone before them.
Legendary and unrepentant residents of humankind’s ideological peanut-gallery, Propagandhi does not disappoint with Supporting Caste, launching crude rockets into the heart of the prevailing order with meditations that range in focus from the humane slaughter and consumption of non-vegans in an elaborate 18-course banquet (with wine pairings) to the apparent confusion of turning on the TV to watch a simple hockey game and having to wonder whether or not the Nazi’s actually lost the war after all.
Supporting Caste: 12 new laments, reveries and extrapolations from 4 visibly-aging prairie skids who still cannot believe that of all the gin joints in all the galaxies in all the universes, they had to be born on this one.
Supporting Caste will be released on March 10th, 2009 on G7 Welcoming Committee/Smallman Records.

Its hardly news that its nice to help out your friends, and isn’t music the closest friend you could ever have? Read on…
All right chiclets, listen up.
There are a multitude of grandiose things happening at Smallman Records this spring. We’ve got records coming out, dudes are touring, people are writing hits… The times, they are a’ bangin.
This is where you lovely people come in.
The Smallman Records Street Team is once again recruiting! What this means is:
We are looking for dedicated music lovers who want to help out bands that they enjoy. There are several different ways to do it - distributing posters and flyers at record stores and shows, posting banners and info about tours and releases online, getting people out to shows in your town… the possibilities are endless!
While this is not a paid position, we are pretty nice to our street team members. We like you and need to keep you happy. Thus, we do a lot of giveaways and little fun things among street team members. Intrigued? Well, you have to sign up first! And you can do that…. here:

Tell your friends! And we’ll be here all week. Tip your bartenders.

Here is just a taste of whats going on at Camp Smallman this spring.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
We at Smallman hope that you all had a safe and fun filled holiday. We sure did.
Propagandhi will be heading to Australia in February for two weeks. For you Aussie Propagandhi fans, get your tickets fast – some shows have already sold out! You can look for a new album from Propagandhi this spring. Get stoked.
Comeback Kid are also in Australia right now, sharing a bill with Carpathian, Verse and Against. In April, look out Europe! The Through The Noise Tour is crossing the Atlantic for ten dates in April. The tour features Comeback Kid, Misery Signals, Bane, Outbreak and Architects. Check out http://www.myspace.com/comebackkid for all the details.
Broadway Calls has announced a few more shows in the UK, which can be found at http://www.myspace.com/broadwaycalls. While the dates do not feature tour mates Alkaline Trio and The Audition, it will surely still be a good time. Get out to these shows and fall arse over elbow for Broadway Calls.
Regina, SK’s Sylvie will be playing a handful of shows in February as they continue to support their album Trees and Shade are Our Only Fences. TASAOOF made its way onto a number of year-end and top 10 lists for 2008, and had a strong overall standing on college radio charts. If you live in Saskatchewan, make sure to request ‘Breakout for Summer’ at C95, Rock 102 and Z99 – lets get Sylvie some more radio love!
February 18th – Vancouver, BC @ The Biltmore
February 20th – Calgary, AB @ Broken City
February 21st – Edmonton, AB @ The Pawn Shop
February 23rd – Winnipeg, MB @ The Albert
Carpenter’s Law Of The Land also saw its fair share of year end praise. Several sites, including Thought Grenade (http://thoughtgrenade.wordpress.com) and Absolute Punk (http://www.absolutepunk.net/) featured the album on their year end lists. If you don’t already know why, check out Carpenter at http://www.myspace.com/johncougarisgod.
The self-titled debut full length from Passenger Action is almost ready to be unleashed to the world! February 10th is the big day, but if you’re lucky enough to live in Edmonton (with the best hockey team in the NHL, just sayin’.), you can check out the Passenger Action CD release show on February 7th at The Pawn Shop. A full Canadian tour will be announced very very soon!
We’ve got a ton of cool stuff going on aside from all the fun I just mentioned. AMAZE YOUR FRIENDS!... Keep your peepers on smallmanrecords.com to be kept up to date on radness.
